Maharashtra, Gujarat lead in Q1 FDI inflows
Both States account for 38% of total $22.34-bn foreign direct investment during June qtr

New Delhi: Out of the $22,347-million foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to India in the first quarter (April-June, 2022 period) of this fiscal, Maharashtra got $5,241 million, which was over 23 per cent of the total flows to India in this period. In 2021-22, Maharashtra had received $15,439 million.
Gujarat got the second highest FDI among States, $3,200 million, in April-June 2022-23, but this was more than 10 per cent higher than $2,706 million it received in the entire previous fiscal, official sources told Bizz Buzz. Maharashtra and Gujarat got almost 38 per cent of the total FDI that the country got in Q1 2022-23. The figures mentioned here include equity inflows, re-invested earnings, and 'other capital,' as per the official classification.
Karnataka got $2,796 million as FDI in the first quarter of this fiscal. In 2021-22, it had received $22,072 million.
The corresponding figures for Delhi are $2,343 million and $8,189 million, for Haryana $1,053 million and $2,798 million, for Tamil Nadu $757 million and $3,003 million, for Telangana $552 million and $1,607 million, for Rajasthan $398 million and $707 million, West Bengal $14 million and $428 million, and Jharkhand $5 million and $6 million.
